Sunglasses are important for both your comfort and protection.
Walking for several hours in bright sunlight without eye protection can be an uncomfortable and tiring experience.

It's unlikely that you'll have to worry about snow blindness unless you're walking in bright sunshine above the snow line.

Nevertheless, a reminder that snow blindness is basically sunburt corneas should be enough to encourage us all to pack sunglasses.

We'd suggest that you get yourself wrap-around sunglasses, the sort that are unlikely to slip off.

We bought ours in a local department store.  They needn't cost much. Ours were just £10 each.
